Recipe for Vegan Tuna Chickpea Mayo
Vegan tuna chickpea & mayo is the perfect replacement for a traditional tuna salad. Instead of using real tuna, we will be using chickpeas which surprisingly do a great job mimicking “tuna”!
To make a tuna salad vegan, we need just a few simple ingredients and you will be shocked at how similar it can be to a real tuna salad. I have friends that say this tastes even better than a real tuna salad.
This is a recipe you’ll make time and time again as it can be a wonderful addition to a sandwich, pasta salad, rice bowl, wrap, or whatever else you want to eat it with. The versatility of this dish makes it incredibly addictive.
The recipe is vegan, tuna-free, gluten-free, nut-free and soy-free.

How To Make Tuna Chickpea Mayo (Vegan)
1. To prepare your vegan tuna chickpea mayo, start by dicing your celery and red onion. The fastest way is to use a food processor and pulse your celery and red onion a few times to chop finely and set aside into a large mixing bowl (do not rinse the food processor). Alternatively, dice celery and red onion finely with a knife and add into a large mixing bowl.
2. Next, it’s time to make vegan tuna! Add the chickpeas and a crumbled nori sheet into the food processor and pulse a few times to mash, leaving some chunks. If you don’t have a food processor, add chickpeas into the mixing bowl and mash with a fork or a masher; then crumble up a nori sheet and mix it in.
3. Then, add the vegan mayo and remaining ingredients in the bowl. Mix well. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. I topped it with chopped green onions to garnish but you can eat as is or top it with whatever you want!
4. Enjoy your vegan tuna chickpea mayo mixture in a sandwich, wrap, salad, on top of crackers or any other way of your choice. Store in a tightly sealed container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
