6-Ingredient Vegan Pasta Sauce Recipes (Super Easy & Delicious!)

Today’s newest recipes are perfect for all ze pasta lovers out there! Here are FOUR delicious and easy Vegan Pasta Sauce Recipes that only use 6 ingredients (or less) each! Check out the video below and don’t forget to scroll down for the written recipes!

As a vegan, one of my favourite dishes to eat is pasta! Not only is pasta easy to make (it literally only requires boiling noodles and prepping the sauce), but they’re also so easy to veganize that you actually won’t need to cut them out once you go vegan.

Today, I decided to share my love for pasta by creating these FOUR delicious 6-Ingredient Vegan Pasta Sauce recipes that you can add to your recipe book. Now you won’t have to keep making the same kind of spaghetti over and over again.

Red Wine Vinegar Tomato Sauce

Ingredients (makes around 2 servings):

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic 
  • 1 can tomato paste (6oz, 170g) 
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar 
  • 1 cup water


  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add in minced garlic and cook for a few minutes. 
  2. Add in tomato paste and water. Whisk. 
  3. Add more flavour by adding Italian seasoning, coconut sugar, and red wine vinegar. Mix and let it come to a nice, soft boil. Cover then let it cook for 10-15 minutes. 
  4. Pour over your favourite pasta and add some cooked green lentils for the protein (optional) to make it more filling. Enjoy!

One Pan Green Curry Pasta

Ingredients (4 servings): 

For the green curry sauce:

  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp green curry paste
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Other ingredients: 

  • 4 servings of pasta (I used orzo) + 1 cup water or more for cooking
  • 1 cup chickpeas 
  • 2 cups broccoli 
  • optional add-ins: thai basil, thai chilis


  1. Add coconut milk into a large wok. Whisk to take out any clumps. 
  2. Add green curry paste and whisk until the paste has incorporated well into the coconut milk. 
  3. Add coconut sugar, lime juice, and salt. Mix. 
  4. Bring the sauce to a soft boil and add in your choice of pasta (I used orzo) and cook it along with the sauce.
  5. Add in the chickpeas, broccoli and water and let this cook while stirring often, adding more water as needed. Cook until the pasta is done.
  6. Plate and top with Thai chilis and Thai basils. Enjoy!

Creamy & Simple Vegan Pesto Sauce

Ingredients (around 2 servings):

  • 1 cup of fresh basil
  • 1/2 cup of pine nuts 
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic 
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast 
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 splash of water (if needed)


  1. Add fresh basil, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, pine nuts, nutritional yeast, salt, and a splash of water in a blender or a food processor. Blend until smooth. 
  2. Pour onto your favourite pasta.
  3. Top with more fresh basil and tomatoes (optional). Enjoy!

Cream of Mushroom Pasta

Ingredients (around 2 servings): 

For the sauce:

  • 1/2 cup cashews (softened)
  • 1/2 vegetable stock cube 
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 cups mushrooms, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 tsp oil (for cooking – optional)

Other ingredients:

  • 1 cup mushrooms, chopped 
  • 2 servings pasta of choice (I used orzo) 
  • Your favourite plant-based protein 
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional) 
  • Salt & pepper to taste


  1. Boil cashews in water for 15-20 minutes to soften. 
  2. While the cashews are soaking, slice up mushrooms (total of 2 cups) and onions.   
  3. Heat oil in a pan and saute onions for a couple of minutes. 
  4. Add in half the mushrooms (1 cup) and minced garlic. Saute until the mushrooms are cooked. 
  5. Add softened cashews, vegetable stock cube, and the cooked mushroom & onion mixture into a blender. Blend until nice and smooth. This is your sauce!
  6. To complete the dish, cook the rest of the mushrooms in the same pan and add in your favourite cooked pasta. Stir in the sauce and add your favourite plant-based protein. 
  7. Plate and top with fresh parsley (optional). Add salt & pepper to taste and enjoy!
