Vegan Grocery Haul (Whole Foods Plant-Based Food Items)

In my latest video, I showed you guys my latest vegan grocery haul! Click on the thumbnail below to see what I bought, and feel free to scroll down to see the list.

It’s vegan grocery haul time, guys! While I still have a few staples left in my pantry, I had to go grocery shopping because of one reason: I ran out of FRESH PRODUCE! I also was running very low on frozen vegetables and fruit as well, so I finally braved the grocery store. At this time when most of us are on high alert because of the coronavirus situation, I try as much as possible to limit the time I spend out of my home (in fact, I haven’t gone shopping for food much at all, since this whole quarantine thing started). I, especially, try to avoid shops and places were there are a large number of people so that I can do my best in abiding by social distancing rules.

The total amount I spent for the groceries in this video is $123.33 CAD (around US$ 88.14 and £70.88). This is more than what I usually spend whenever I go grocery shopping, but the idea here is to stock up as much as I can to limit the number of times I have to go to the grocery store. Plus, the prices at the grocery store I went to were a little higher (this was the closest one to my house). I would have gone to a cheaper grocery if I had a car at the moment.

Keep in mind that I still have some staple items already in my kitchen, such as spices, condiments, rice, etc. so I didn’t have to buy too many things but this should give you a good idea of some of the things I look for when I grocery shop!

(I would also like to mention that the grocery near my home is quite well-stocked. I definitely do NOT encourage hoarding groceries!)

Without further ado, here’s a list of what’s included in my latest vegan grocery haul, and don’t forget to check out the video above~!

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

fresh kale, bell peppers, celery, bok choy, and spinach from the grocery haul

For the fresh vegetables, I tried as much as possible to buy those that I know would last a bit longer. If I did buy anything that might go bad quickly, I will try to eat those first. I never realized how much I would miss fresh veggies until now! Here is a quick list of the vegetables I bought.

  • Asparagus
  • Bell peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Bok choy (baby bok choy and Shanghai bok choy)
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Cucumbers
  • Kale
  • Romaine lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Apples
  • Banana
  • Blueberries
  • Oranges

Freezer Items

I bought a mixture of frozen veggies and fruits, which have always been staples in my home. I will try to go through my fresh produce first before turning to these, since frozen items last much longer.

  • Brussel sprouts
  • Edamame beans
  • Mixed veggies
  • Mangoes
  • Strawberries

Canned Goods

I would’ve gotten a little bit more if I could’ve, but I had to walk a few blocks from the grocery store to my condo (LOL my arms felt like they were going to break!) so I only got a few of these.

  • Black beans
  • Canned (crushed) tomatoes
  • Tomato paste

Starches

Like I mentioned in the video, I still have some rice, pasta, and bread left in my pantry, so I didn’t buy too much of this food group.

  • Multigrain pasta (spaghetti)
  • Potatoes
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Tortillas

Miscellaneous

Finally, here are just a few more items I bought for this vegan grocery haul.

  • Cumin (the only spice I ran out of so I only got this)
  • Hummus
  • Salsa
  • Dark chocolate for dessert (85% cacao)
