This vegan creamy broccoli pasta recipe has a cream of broccoli sauce that takes only 15 mins to cook and blend! It’s a quick & tasty vegan dinner idea!
The vegan broccoli pasta sauce is creamy, garlicky, savoury, and deliciously addictive. Trust me, you’ll want to make this weekly it’s so good and high in protein!
Recipe for Vegan Creamy Broccoli Pasta
For this vegan broccoli pasta recipe I used tofu (instead of cashews) as the main ingredient in the sauce to make this extra creamy and packed with protein! The sauce also has a lot of flavour with the help of roasted broccoli blended in.
There are many ways of making a creamy sauce without dairy but this method allows you to secretly pack in extra protein inside the sauce. With the help of soft tofu, we are able to create a deliciously rich and creamy sauce and you won’t realize there is tofu because of the help of the seasonings!
For extra protein, I also recommend using a high protein pasta for that extra protein boost, if desired.
The recipe is vegan, nut-free, and can be made gluten-free using GF pasta & oil-free if you boil/steam your broccoli!
Ingredients for Creamy Broccoli Pasta (Vegan)
- Pasta of choice (use gluten-free or high-protein if desired)
- Broccoli
- Garlic
- Oil
- Soft Tofu
- Vegetable bouillon cube
- Nutritional yeast
- Garlic powder
- Basil (dried or fresh, optional)
How To Make Vegan Creamy Broccoli Pasta
1. Start by roasting, boiling or steaming your broccoli. If you use the oven, pre-heat to 425 degrees F. Prepare your chopped broccoli and peeled garlic into a mixing bowl and coat evenly in oil (if you’re boiling or steaming, skip this part and just boil and steam as you desire). For air fryer or oven, place broccoli and garlic onto a lined baking sheet and roast in the oven at 425 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until roasted to your liking. If air frying, air fry at 400 degrees for 10-13 minutes until roasted to your liking.
2. Next, you’ll want to start making your vegan creamy pasta sauce by adding into a blender: soft tofu, vegetable bouillon, nutritional yeast, garlic powder and dry basil. Blend until smooth. If you have a smaller blender and it’s not blending easily, make sure the tofu is ripped into smaller chunks and you can add a splash of water to help but shouldn’t be necessary.
3. Then, cook your pasta according to the package instructions. Use gluten-free pasta, if you are gluten-free and if you want higher protein, use a higher protein pasta.
4. Once the broccoli and garlic are roasted, boiled or steamed, I recommend adding half of it into the blender and blend into the sauce until smooth, but you don’t have to add it into the sauce if you don’t want to. You can use your broccoli and garlic in the pasta.
5. Drain your pasta, and add your cooked pasta into the pot, with the sauce and the remaining broccoli and garlic and heat it up. Toss until well-combined. Add salt & pepper to taste and enjoy your vegan creamy broccoli pasta!

Not going to lie. I was skeptical of using tofu in a sauce. But my family had no idea that this was a tofu based sauce. It’s so rich and savoury and creamy! I want to try doing this with mushroom to make a cream of mushroom high protein. So so good and your family won’t know 😆
This was so good. Thank you for making veganism more accessible and less intimidating for other cheap, lazy people like me!
