Coconut Bacon Recipe

I didn’t realize how easy it was to make coconut bacon until I actually tried it at home!

Whenver I find myself having leftover or extra coconut shreds that need to be used up, I now make some coconut bacon with them.

This Coconut bacon recipe is:

  • Only 5 ingredients!
  • Only 1 minute prep time
  • 10 minute cook time!
  • Vegan
  • Gluten-free
(if you use tamari instead of soy sauce)

Coconut Bacon (Vegan) Ingredients:

  • Coconut flakes
  • Vegetable oil
  • Soy sauce (or tamari if gluten-free)
  • Liquid smoke
  • Maple syrup

How To Make Coconut Bacon:

  1. Mix together the liquid ingredents into a sauce.
  2. Add unsweetened coconut shreds into sauce and mix until well coated.
  3. Roast in the oven.

That’s it! How simple is that?

How to store it: Once you make a nice batch of coconut bacon, you can keep it in a tightly sealed container in the fridge and enjoy them by:

  • Adding it as a topping to roasted veggies
  • Adding it into vegan mac & cheese
  • Mixing with some vegan mayo and making a vegan BLT

Without further ado, here’s the full recipe with mesurements!

Hi Rose, I made your recipe yesterday with some substitutions because I did it on a whim. But it turned out fantastic anyway. Your tips and the recipe are great! I posted about it on my Va-Va-Vegan Substack with special mention/links to you here on The Cheap Lazy Vegan! I don’t have a lot of subscribers yet, but I hope they come visit you. Thank you very much.💝
