All you need to make this delicious and simple vegan dish is some noodles (I like to use spaghetti), vegan butter and optionally garlic and/or garlic powder to make vegan garlic butter noodles!

You can feel free to add in anything else to make this your own, such as topping this with vegan parmesan, some parsley and/or crushed chilli flakes. You can also add in some plant-based protein such as chickpeas, veggie dogs, smoked tofu or anything else you like.

If you want to make this healthier, you can also add in your favourite vegetables.

The recipe is vegan, nut-free and has options to make it gluten-free using GF noodles.

Ingredients

  • Noodles
  • Vegan Butter
  • Garlic (optional)
  • Garlic Powder (optional)
  • vegan parmesan (optional)
  • parsley (optional)
  • crushed chilli flakes (optional)
  • plant-based protein such as chickpeas, veggie dogs, smoked tofu (optional)

How To Make Butter Noodles (Vegan)

Start making your vegan butter noodles by taking a large pot, bringing plenty of water to a boil and cooking your noodles/pasta according to instructions.

Heat around 2 tbsp of vegan butter on a non-stick pan on medium-high heat and add in minced garlic. Cook for a couple of minutes.

Once pasta is cooked al dente, save around 1/2 cup of the pasta water and add the pasta into the pan.

Add the rest of the vegan butter, a splash of the pasta water, salt to taste and a pinch of crushed chilli flakes (optional). Add in garlic powder if you want this extra garlicky.

Feel free to add any other ingredients to your pasta like plant-based protein as well as top your noodles with fresh parsley, crushed chilli flakes and/or vegan parmesan.
