How To Make Big Mac Tacos (Vegan)

Start making your vegan Big Mac tacos by preparing your vegan patties. Add rolled oats and walnuts (or another nut or seed) into a food processor (or blender) to blend up the ingredients. Add the mixture into a large mixing bowl.

In the same food processor, add mushrooms, onions and garlic and pulse a few times to dice finely. Add this mixture to the same large mixing bowl.

In the same food processor, add lentils and blend until mashed. Add the lentil mixture into the large mixing bowl.

Into the large mixing bowl, add tomato paste, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and black pepper and mix until well combined.

Now, form the lentil mixture into balls, around 1/3 cup each. Smash the balls onto a soft tortilla and flatten and spread it into a thin layer. Repeat with the rest of the mixture and tortillas.

Heat around 1 tbsp of vegetable oil or vegan butter on a large non-stick pan on high heat and lay down 2 tacos (more if you can fit more on the pan), lentil side down. Cook for around 4-5 minutes or until the lentil mixture becomes slightly browned and cooks to your liking.

Repeat the step above to cook the rest of the tacos (or save the rest of the mixture for later).

While the tacos are cooking, you can make a Vegan Big Mac Sauce by mixing the ingredients in a bowl: Vegan mayonnaise, Sweet pickle Relish or sweet green relish, Barbecue Sauce, Vinegar white vinegar or apple cider vinegar, Yellow Mustard, Paprika or smoked paprika, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder and Salt.

Flip the tortilla and sprinkle on a small layer of vegan cheese on top of the lentil patty. Add a couple of drops of water to the pan and cover the pan with a lid to melt the cheese (#tip).

Once the cheese is melted, transfer your tortilla patty on a plate and top each taco with big mac ingredients like shredded lettuce, diced onion, diced tomato (optional), and dill pickle slices. And top with a dollop of Vegan Big Mac Sauce you made.

Carefully fold the Big Mac taco in half so it’s a taco and enjoy!

Unbelievable! My husband and I loved this so much! Paul kept complimenting the sauce. I couldn’t find a relish that I wanted to buy, so I chopped up bread and butter pickles for it.
