How much trash did I produce in a week? Watch the video above to see what was in my trash jar!
If you’ve seen my previous post, you would know that I attempted the ZERO WASTE CHALLENGE one week in July. I wanted to see how well I would do at minimizing the amount of waste I produce. If you want to read more about what it means to be Zero Waste and some tips on how to follow (or get started) on a zero waste lifestyle, check out my previous blogpost written by Tidy Guy.
As you can see by the video, I went through some struggles learning how to navigate through a zero waste lifestyle. It was definitely an eye opening experience. And while I will say that I probably won’t be attempting a completely ZERO WASTE lifestyle now, I will definitely be implementing some things I’ve learnt during my week.
At the end of my week, I did a TRASH AUDIT with Rik to go through what were some of my biggest sources of waste. Most of the things in my trash jar actually came from products I used up that I bought the week before…
The video also features Rik and I going grocery shopping for a completely ZERO WASTE dinner – using supplies Rik had in his kitchen but also shopping in the produce and bulk sections.
We ended up making my vegan buttery parmesan spaghetti recipe – with a few tweaks. Instead of using vegan butter, we used oil and we added some mushrooms and parsley. It was great!!
Hope you enjoy the video and find it interesting!
