It’s funny when I hear the common stereotype of the vegan that just can’t seem to SHUT UP about being vegan… because what I witness is the complete opposite. What I see much more frequently are people feeling socially anxious because they don’t know how to tell their family and friends they are vegan or they don’t know what to do during the holidays when they got invited to a holiday dinner…

I always get asked questions regarding being vegan and navigating through social situations so it really goes to show that people are having a tough time.

It’s NOT easy being different than 99% of the population. It’s NOT easy going against the status quo. People will always have something to say and try to bring you down, especially when your actions make them question their own values.

I don’t have all the answers and I’m still trying to figure things out. I still get awkward/annoyed/frustrated/angry when dealing with certain social situations but over the years I’ve learnt a few things that seem to work better than others.
