Banana bread is amazing. What’s more amazing is chocolate hazelnut banana bread. What’s more amazing than that is VEGAN chocolate hazelnut banana bread that is HEALTHY. Yup, it’s really not difficult to make banana bread a little more healthy.
For this recipe, I used the Chocolate Hazelnut Spread from Naturally More – which is a company specializing in vegan and all natural nut butters. This spread was super yummy, not overly sweet and tasted like “real” chocolate hazelnut, not artificial. It was an amazing addition to the banana bread and I felt that the flavours just went perfectly together. I put some of the spread inside the banana bread as well as on top after it was cooked! After all, can we really have too much chocolate hazelnut spread?!

Easy Vegan Banana Bread with Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp ground flax seed + 6 tbsp water (for flax egg mixture)
- 1/4 cup coconut oil melted
- 1/2 cup maple syrup or agave nectar
- 2-2.5 mashed ripe bananas (a little over 1 cup)
- 1/4 cup non-dairy milk
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 + 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- Chocolate Hazelnut Spread (leave out for regular banana bread)
- Optional: 1/2 tsp cinnamon
